Upward receives grant from Exelon

Employee Volunteer Award provides money to be used for scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of one of our Upward parents, Mark Kaiser, and his employer, Exelon, Upward has been awarded a $300 grant, which will be used to fund 2018 scholarships for players and cheerleaders.

Mark was kind enough to nominate Upward Flag Football in Exelon's Employee Volunteer Award program. Upward completed the application in January, and the award was announced in early March. The money will be used to fund partial (half) and full scholarships for the 2018 season. We want these funds to be used for families that truly need financial assistance; if you know of a family that could benefit from a scholarship, please contact Jay Gordon, League Director.

A HUGE thank you to Mark for thinking of us for an award, but more than that, for the countless hours that you invest in our players as an Upward coach. We are also grateful to Exelon, which invests heavily in our communities through this and other volunteer programs. Nearly 4,500 Exelon volunteers gave over 210,000 hours of the time to volunteer last year!

Does your company have a grant program similar to Exelon's?
